Will they come off?

Here are the infamous red Jessie boots:

They came last week. I think she's worn them almost every day.
Isn't she cute!!!

I Want to be Just Like My Sister

Last month I signed the girls up for indoor soccer. Robyn is on a team with many of her classmates. Annalise is on a team with many of her teammates from outdoor soccer. There's a drawback. We found out Annalise made metro soccer (traveling) the week after final sign ups and there are no refunds for indoor soccer. The last couple weeks we've been a lit-tle busy.
Check out the colors of these teams. Annalise is in the florescent yellow and trust me, the orange is just as bright in person.

This is Robyn's first time playing soccer after years of watching Annalise play. She's still learning the game. If any of you have ever seen little kids play soccer you know that there's a lot of running around the field. They don't know anything about positions they just follow the ball. So, Robyn is EXHAUSTED after a game!

Love this picture. Looks like she's trying to figure what to do next...

Last Saturday the Girl Scouts had a daddy-daughter dance. Annalise stayed home with me while Jeff and Robyn went dancing. Robyn was so excited. Jeff, well, he was a good sport!

I tried to convince Robyn to wear her new Jessie boots to the dance, but she thought it would look weird. And so it begins...

Best Day Ever!

This week was our school's basket raffle. Each class is supposed to put together a basket for the event. Annalise's class did not do it (I guess 6th graders are just too cool), but Robyn's class collected $150 and put it in a piggy bank.
Guess who won the basket????

She had a huge grin on her face all night. She's already decided that the first thing she wants are Jessie boots...

Annalise and her friends are trying to persuade Robyn to share the rest...

Celebration!

The day finally arrived. . . Robyn has been anxiously waiting for the day when we go see Disney on Ice. The tickets were a birthday gift but unfortunately she had to wait a month before we could go.
Annalise has been before so she helped Robyn get ready for the big event. Did you know little girls like to dress up to see Disney on Ice? Soooo, Robyn dressed up as Alice in Wonderland. I think she was the only girl there dressed up as Alice. We saw a lot of Tianas, Belles and Sleeping Beautys.

This is not a great picture but you can see her waving. When the characters waved to the crowd there was Robyn waving back -- every time!

Belle is Annalise's favorite Disney princess.

Jessie is Robyn's favorite Disney character. She was kinda hard to get a good picture of as she was always moving around on the ice.

We had a good time. I know Robyn loved it because she didn't want it to end.

Home Sweet Home

What have we been up to lately? Annalise is running track, Robyn is taking ballet lessons, and Jeff is working hard at school. I've been busy too but between working at the gym two mornings a week and being a mom, well, it's never very exciting.

One project I finally completed was Robyn's hand plate. Annalise had hers done when she was five but I was a little bit behind. We finally went to the ceramics store the week after her sixh birthday. Hey, better late then never. I tried to steer Robyn into making one similar to Annalise's so they would match. It's similar, but I had to bite my tongue and sit on my hands so she could do it herself!

Last fall I won a $200 gift certificate to a local furniture shop. I was really excited until I went into the store. Granted it is a very nice store but $200 doesn't go far there. So I bought these paintings. After 3 1/2 years my walls are still a little bare and need some sprucing up. I like them but now I need to figure out where to hang them and then actually do it!

This was going to be a before shot as I went to the hairdresser for a cut yesterday. Well, all I had taken off was an inch off the length so you really can't tell the difference. But you should know this is the longest my hair has ever been. Who knows, maybe I won't chicken out the next time I get my hair cut.

And this to shall pass

It's been a tough couple of weeks, at least for me. First off I've been fighting a cold which happened to settle in my ears. My left ear has been clogged for over a week. Now this isn't such a bad thing as it's a good way to ignore the girls when they arguing or asking you for something. the night before I finally made an appointment to see a doctor I did this:
No, I didn't hit anyone but I did manage to hit my ring finger on the bedroom door handle while taking out the laundry. That's what I get for doing housework -- never again! :)

Anyway, so my doctor's appointment was eventful. Besides the double ear infection and the swollen finger I got roped into making a mammagram appointment. I guess I'm now a woman of a certain age who needs to get it done -- yippee? They tried to set one up that day but I just couldn't do it. The ear infection is still going on though I got ahold of my doctor and now I'm taking antibiotics. I have high hopes that I will be able to hear next week. Cross your fingers.

On to happier things. Last week Annalise had her first "unofficial" track meet. She ran the 1500 meters ( 3 1/2 laps around the track) with a calculated mile pace of 7:06. She definitely takes after her dad. At her age I would have been wheezing before the first lap was completed!
