Last Soccer Season

Annalise decided to not play soccer in the fall.  After 8 years of watching her play soccer we are a little sad and we won't know what to do with ourselves.  Good thing she decided to run cross country.  There are always meets on the weekends.  LOL

Best Hawaiian Shave Ice.  Ice cream on the bottom, shave ice with flavoring, and then cream on top.  Awesome!

Snorkling

We were supposed to take a snorkeling trip to Molokini but because the wind was so bad we ended up in another location.  The captain called it Coral Gardens.  We saw a couple of other snorkeling boats at the same location so I don't think anyone made it to Molokini that day.

I think Robyn's hair was the cutest.  Her hair kept getting curlier while Annalise & I hair just got tangled.

The boat had a place where you could see the fish and coral without getting in the water.

I think Jeff had the best time.  He loved snorkeling.

Second day--Kamaole III Beach & Iao Valley

They finally arrived.  Now to swim.  Water in Hawaii is MUCH WARMER than on northern California's beaches.

Maui Trip Part I

After many years of wanting to go to Hawaii we finally made it this year.  Jeff now works in the same school district as the girls so spring breaks were aligned.  It was a sign we needed to go to Maui.

 

Waiting for our luggage.  The plane ride was long.  We were ready to stop travelling.



Chickens at the car rental place. 

The chickens were not afraid of humans.  As the girls and I were waiting for Jeff to get our car we pulled out some goldfish to eat.  The chickens quickly came over for food.  When I wouldn't give them any they waited for me to turn my head.  As soon as I did one hopped up and grabbed the cracker out of my hand.  You could say that startled me.  LOL

The first night we headed up to Makawao in the upcountry which is toward Haleakala.  They were having a town party. Not your typical Hawaiian town.  It's considered a "cowboy" town.  Not sure about that but it had good food and neat shops.

Birthday Party

Sunday we all got together to celebrate my dad's 90th birthday.  I have a brother and sister already in the area.  The rest of us had to travel from Texas and California.  It was a great weekend.  I had a lot of fun and I think everyone else did too.  I know that the meal was awesome.  My older brother is a great cook and made a super delicious lasagna.  He made so much I was able to eat it for a couple days!  Yum!

 

Unexpected stop

It was my dad's 90th birthday recently.  To celebrate all of us kids were heading back to Maryland.  Unfortunately I picked the wrong day to travel.  It was the day that a huge storm decided to come through and dump 12 inches of snow.  I made it to Las Vegas but no farther that day.  This happened at 8 am in the morning and I couldn't fly out until 10:30 the next morning.  So I spent the day exploring the Strip in Las Vegas. 

 

I spent about 4 hours walking the Strip.  First I walked over to Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum.

 

 

Next I walked down to the Las Vegas Eiffel Tower.  I was able to get a great view of the city and a good view of the water show at the Bellagio.

 

When I took this trip stopping off at Las Vegas was not expected but it was a nice surprise.
