A Middle-Schooler, Oh No!

On the last day of school was Annalise's 6th grade promotion. Hard to believe she will be going to middle school next year. Time marches forward even if you are not ready for it.

It was a nice ceremony. Annalise was recognized with a certificate for Outstanding Academic Excellence. No perfect attendance for her. This year was the first year ever where she missed school for being sick. I tell you, the girl has freakishly good health!

First Grade Here She Comes

This week was the last day of school. It was a big deal to Robyn as the kindergarten classes had their promotion ceremony. It was nice. They worked hard and the presentation was perfect -- it was cute and more importantly -- it was short!

Metro Soccer

This year is Annalise's first time in metro soccer. I don't have any season game pictures because 1) I'm lame and 2) it's been cold & windy at the games so I've been huddling under blankets while watching the games.

Here are a few pictures of last week's scrimmage game. They actually did pretty good.

Free as the Bird

Saturday was a low-key day for us. With the holiday weekend and the unexpected rainstorm we were sticking close to home. But by evening we were ready to get out of the house. The rain had stopped so we decided to go on a walk/bike ride on the trail behind our house. We walked and the girls rode their bikes.

At the beginning of the excursion Robyn was fine with her training wheels but by the end she was ready to get ride of them. So Jeff took them off and away she went . . .

If only everything went so easily! :)

Mother's Day

Robyn made a card at church in Primary for Mother's Day. This is her picture of me.

I love it (even though I hope I don't look this fat in real life)!

And the winner is...

Over the last couple of years I've been entering stuff in the fair. I've been fairly successful in winning ribbons so that Annalise has decided she wants to enter too. Last summer Annalise learned how to sew. So with a little help from me (I have to sit next to her and guide her while she's sewing) she made these pajamas shorts.
She took this picture while we were hiking in the hills by our house.

I was so happy with Robyn's Easter dress I entered it this year. Too bad for Robyn as I had to turn it in the day before Easter. I let her wear it early as she couldn't wear on the actual day.

I was surprised about the ribbon this sweater won. I had so many problems while making this sweater. I liked how it turned out but I didn't like it while I was knittiing. I'm just glad someone likes it. Now I just need to figure out who to give it to...

Now Robyn wants to join in the fun. The county fair is in a couple months I think I can figure out something she could enter, right?

Speed Racer

There were activities this past Saturday. Between two soccer games, a race, and a soccer party Jeff & I had to split up. He went with Annalise to her away soccer game and I got to take Robyn to all her activities.

One of those activities was her first road race. She ran in the kids 1/2 mile run.

I'm so proud of her. She ran most of the race and still finished in the middle of the pack.

She was once asked how she liked soccer. Her reply was "That is a lot of wunning!" I think that comment applies to this race as well!
